Outdoor First Aid Kit

Whenever you go hiking or backpacking, you should always carry some type of first aid kit.  These kits can sometime be the difference between life and death.  As anyone know when you're on the trail there are no doctors or hospitals nearby, not unless you just happen to be hiking next to one.

Below are the some items that I would suggested be included in if you want create your own or buy a commercial outdoor first-aid kit:

  • Gauze Pads
  • Soap Towelettes
  • Adhesive Bandages
  • Butterfly Bandages
  • Knuckle Bandage
  • Dental Floss (30 feet)
  • Hydrocortisone (in small packets)
  • Triple Antibiotic Ointment (in small packets)
  • Burn Ointment (in small packets)
  • Pain Reliever
  • Safety Pins
  • Medical Tape
  • Tweezers
  • Moleskin
  • Personal medication
Note: its good idea to review the items in your kit every year to make sure that they have not expired on you.
